The world is full of surprises and wonders. These wonders and sculptures tell about the greatness and the uniqueness of the world. Those people, who went to these monuments, were amazed and spell-bounded. Some of them are man-made and but some of them is said to be natural. These structures are voted after a fixed period of time and some are selected as seven wonders of the world.

7 Wonders of the world:
The Great Wall of China (China)
This is the first monument in our list of 7 wonders of the world. The construction of the Great Wall of China is said to have started around the 5th B.C. The construction of the Great Wall of China is said to extend to two millennia. Constructed through the stone, bricks and many other things the wall is across the north-line border in the east-west direction.
This wall was intended for defending the boundary of the Chinese Empire from the Mongolian invasions. The Great Wall is the world’s greatest man-made construction because it is, in fact, a chain of numerous barriers that spans about 4,000 miles.
Though the structure called as a “wall,” the structure comprises of two corresponding walls for extended stretches. It also has barracks and watchtowers. The barracks dot the wall. The wall was built for safeguarding the country from invasions and raid, but it never had effectiveness.
Pyramid of Giza
The pyramid of Giza is the only enduring ‘wonder’ from the prehistoric list. There are three major pyramids on the upland of the Giza in Egypt. These are the Sphinx along with a number of smaller crypts and also the mastabas. These were built around 2613-2494 BC, by three different pharaohs of the Old Kingdom. These pyramids always hit the list of man-made speculates.
The Roman Colosseum
Constructed around 68-79 AD, by the Vespasian, Roman Emperor, the Colosseum is pronounced as Coliseum. It was built as a place which was more like an amphitheater for watching and enjoying the sports and proceedings for Romans. The structure has the capability of holding 50,000 spectators. People used to gather at Colosseum to witness the amazing and entertaining matches.
Standing on the banks of river Yamuna, this monument is the most famous monuments of the world. Situated in the state of Agra, India the Taj Mahal, was constructed by Shah Jahan, the Mughal Emperor. He built this beautiful architecture, for the death-bed appeal of his wife and queen Mumtaz Mahal. She died in 1630 AD.
The monument stands as the memory of Mumtaz Mahal. The memorial has an intricate design structure. Ustad ‘Isa, the famous Islamic architect designed the monument. The Taj Mahal is made of marbles of Makarana. It took 22 years to complete the Taj Mahal.
There were so many kings and emperor. All of them had their beautiful palace. Machu Picchu is one of such palaces. Pachacuti, the Inca king, that ruled from 1438-1471 AD, had his residence at Machu Picchu. Located on a saddle, the huge structure stands between the two gigantic mountains. The strangest thing about this architecture is, it is at an altitude of 3000 feet on top of the valley. The amazing view of the valley on both side and huge mountains makes Machu Picchu more and more beautiful.
Occupied in the start of the sixth century BC, the Petra is historic ruins in the Nabataean, the capital city of the southern Jordan. It is well-known for its rock-cut structural design and the water channel structure. Petra is also known as the Rose City because of the stone color out of which it is engraved.
Christ, the Redeemer
Standing atop Mount Corcovado in Rio de Janeiro, Christ the Redeemer is a colossal statue of Jesus. It is said some Brazilians feared from a “tide of godlessness” and it is when this was made. The foundation dates just subsequent to the World War I. Brazilians projected a statuette that was designed by Carlos Oswald, Heitor da Silva Costa, and Paul Landowski.
Made of the shatterproof concrete, the creation of the sculpture began in 1926 and fulfilled after five years. Covered in the six miles of tiles, the height of the statue is 98 feet from the base and its arms stretch up to 28 meters. This statue stands us the biggest Art Deco figure in the world. In 2014, the head of the statue was damaged a bit by the storm and lighting. However, the statue has been hit by the lighting several times.
