So here we will discuss how to apply for a passport online and offline both.
Procedure to apply for passport online:
Step1: Go to Passport Seva Online Portal https://portal2.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/user/RegistrationBaseAction or you can also do it using mPassport Seva app.
Step2: Register your self by filling all the required details.
Step3: Select your regional passport office according to your residential address.
Step4: Now login to the Passport Seva Online Portal by using your registered login Id & password.
Step5: Click on “Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport” link.
Step6: Fill in the required details in the form and then click on submit.
Step7: Click the “Pay and Schedule Appointment” link on the “View Saved/Submitted Applications” screen to plan your appointment.
Note: Online Payment mode has been made required for booking arrangements at all Passport Seva Kendras/Passport Offices.
Online Payment modes accepted are:
1. Mastercard and Visa credit or debit card
2. SBI Internet Banking
3. SBI Bank Challan
Step8: Click the link “Print Application Receipt” to print the application receipt having Application Reference Number (ARN)/Appointment Number into it.
Note: Carrying printout is not mandatory. An SMS having your appointment details sent by Passport Seva Online Portal is also accepted.
Step8: Visit the Regional Passport Seva Kendra (PSK)/Regional Passport Office (RPO) where you have book an appointment, with your original document proof.
Procedure to apply for a passport using the offline mode you have to do the following:
Step1: Collect Passport Application Form at your Regional Passport Office.
Step2: Fill the form.
Step3: Submit it along with your photo and self-attested photocopies of supporting documents.
Step4: After the verification of your photograph and supporting document at RPO counter, pay the passport fees using Demand Draft (DD)
Step5: Take a slip contains a File Number to track your application online
1. Proof Of Present Address (Water Bill, landline or postpaid mobile bill, Electricity bill, Income Tax Assessment Order, Voter ID card, Proof of Gas Connection, Certificate from Employer of reputed companies on letterhead, Spouse’s passport copy, Parent’s passport copy, in case of minors, Aadhaar Card, Rent Agreement, Bank Passbook)
2. Proof Of Date Of Birth (Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar of Births, Transfer/School leaving/Matriculation Certificate, Policy Bond issued by the Public Life Insurance Corporations/Companies, Copy of an extract of the service record of the applicant, Aadhaar Card, Voter ID card, PAN Card, Driving License, declaration given by the Head of the Orphanage/Child Care Home on their official letterhead of the association confirming the DOB of the candidate)
