How to Link Aadhaar with Pan Card

According to the Income Tax Department notice, linking your Aadhaar with a pan card is mandatory. The due date to interface PAN with Aadhaar, which was at first stretched out from 31st August 2017 to 31st December 2017 and therefore to 31st March 2018 pursued by 30th June 2018 has now been reached out to 31st December 2019. The income tax return won’t process after 31st December 2019 until PAN and Aadhaar are linked. Individuals have to link their Aadhaar with pan card by visiting the official Income Tax e-Filing website or they can do so also via SMS.

How to Link Aadhaar with Pan Card?

People can link their PAN and Aadhaar online using two methods:

  1. By logging in to official Income Tax e-Filing website
  2. Without logging to official Income Tax e-Filing website

1. By logging in to official Income Tax e-Filing website (7 Step):

Step1: Go to the official Income Tax e-Filing website

Step2: Register yourself using pan no.

Step3: Login to the website using the User ID, Password & Captcha Code

Step4: Now got to profile setting and click on Link Aadhaar

Step5: Match your name and DOB with Aadhaar

Step6: Fill your Aadhaar No. into the box and captcha code

Step7: Now click on Link Aadhaar, you will get a pop-up message that your Aadhaar and pan linked successfully

2. Without logging to official Income Tax e-Filing website (7 Step):

Step1: Go to the official Income Tax e-Filing website

Step2: Click on the Link Aadhaar in the left panel of Quick Links section

Step3: Enter PAN, Aadhaar Number and Name as per Aadhaar

Step4: If you have the only year of birth in Aadhaar Card then click on that

Step5: Click on agree to validate Aadhaar details with UIDAI

Step6: Enter the captcha code or you can also request for OTP

Step7: Now click on Link Aadhaar, you will get a pop-up message that your Aadhaar and pan linked successfully

You can also link your Aadhaar number with PAN using SMS. Just send the SMS to 567678 or 56161 using your registered mobile no. You have to use following format: UIDPAN<SPACE><12 digit Aadhaar><Space><10-digit PAN> Example: UIDPAN 111111111111 ABCDE1234F

After that fill the PAN & Aadhaar details, and then click on View Link Aadhaar Status.
